Holmlea Care Home
"To provide quality person centred care and provide a warm home for over 65's"
We provide a warm home with a family feel for elderly people (Over 65) who require additional care and support within a residential setting. We specialise in Dementia care providing a stimulating and supportive environment for residents and family members. We also provide respite care and short break care for older people to allow their family, friends and carers to have a break while the person they care for is supported in our friendly, caring home.
We understand how worrying it can be when a family member/ loved one moves into a care home and how important the right care is. This is why we strive to provide a home from home with the highest quality care from long serving, qualified, caring staff.
Family and friends are always welcome and we encourage visits and for you to get involved in our social events and activities which include concerts, fairs, local excursions and outings and fundraising events.
We have a committed and loyal staff team with many years experience. We would answer any questions you may have and ensure that your loved one was cared for in a way that promotes independence, maintains dignity and choice.
We can give you the information you need to make an informed decision regarding the care of your loved one.
We have a weekly ward round from a local G.P practice in North Shields and our G.P knows all our residents very well. Continuity of care significantly improves health outcomes by building trust, enhancing safety and improving medication adherence. Our residents and their families feel a greater confidence and trust in us.
The company of others and active engagement are fundamental to us because it supports a homely community environment which improves residents physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Social interaction is crucial to alleviate the isolation and loneliness that many older adults experience.
Our residents love meeting dogs and we use a local company called Wag and Co and this greatly improves the wellbeing of our residents but more visits from well behaved, loving, friendly dogs would boost wellbeing.
We have visits from the local scouts and small groups who provide entertainment for our residents whether this be singing, dancing, a general get together, coffee morning etc. This also greatly improves the wellbeing of our residents.
Flowers always bring a smile, along with biscuits, cakes etc.
We are truly a family business where the directors know every resident by name.
We welcome you into our family and care for you like our own.
Families always feel so comforted by our staff team, many who have been with us for over 10 years, some 15 - 30 years.
Our Care home has an excellent reputation in the local community and we pride ourselves on the number of clients who choose us following personal recomendations.
